Milledgeville, GA

Milledgeville Georgia is known as the “First Lady of Georgia”, having served as the state's Antebellum Capital from 1803 to 1868. The city’s six largest employers are the Central State Hospital, the Middle Georgia Correctional Facility, Baldwin County Board of Education, Rheem Manufacturing, Oconee Regional Medical Center, and Georgia College & State University.

In 2006, Milledgeville received an $863,000 grant from a statewide program called Wireless Communities Georgia, funded through the Georgia Technology Authority.

Recently, a decision was made to privatize the state Georgia Technology Authority. The state contract for IT Infrastructure Services was awarded to IBM.
